ESL Teacher

ESL Teacher

Part I

Are you ready to go to a different country and work as an English Conversation Teacher? Are you ready to work in any country?

If you go to the Internet and check out the web sites for ESL jobs you will see a lot of information. Some will request only that you teach and follow the guidelines set by the school and government. They don’t require a college degree. Most of the ESL web sites do request that you have a college degree. You need to have several original copies from the college or high school. If you scan the high school and college degree documents then put them into a folder called ESL Documents. It would be a good idea to record everything on paper and computer. It is a lot easier to carry your records on a CD, floppy disk or some other storage device.

Depending on your preferences email will be the major form of communication. Here is where having the ESL documents on your computer will help when you are asked to send them by email.

The resume will reflect who you are, what you have done, school and college you have attended, and work experience. Add the resume to your ESL Documents folder. The resume is only a formality that verifies to the school and local government you have attended and received a certificate of some kind.

You can’t go anywhere unless you have a passport. The picture you use for the passport can be used also for the request to supply a current picture. If you decide to use a different picture, that is OK. I can only speak for Korea and China, where I taught.
