Speak/Speaking

What language do you speak? What language do you want to speak or learn? How do you express yourself speaking?

Definition = capable of speech; involves talking; express thoughts, opinions, or feelings orally; to verbalize.

Related Words = converse, assert, convey, talk, utterance, tell

I don’t agree with some of the information surrounding “speaking”, because it is biased. Most of the information is directed towards people that hear and speak. The information doesn’t take into consideration that we express ourselves in a lot of different ways, hands, eyes, and body. But keeping within the area of “speaking” to learn a language then it would be true.

Speaking a different language other than your own native language can be very challenging. You have to talk and express words orally. You can’t hear yourself if you don’t talk out loud. You don’t know how you sound and sound will determine how your ears transform the words to the brain. You can’t read or talk in a mumble and expect to understand how you sound.

As humans we hear a lot of different sounds and noises around us. How we react determines how fine tuned we develop to those sounds and noises.

Tutoring will only help if a person speaks out loud by reading or expressing himself or herself in the language they want to learn. If you read and don’t verbalize the words then speaking will be difficult.

Some cultures feel intimidated by expressing themselves in English because of their own country’s ideas about the language. Tutoring can only give a means to release your expression of the language. Speaking English with a group of friends will help develop and improve your speaking. If you want to really learn English or any language you have to speak in public where everyone can hear you. This will help overcome the fear of having someone hear you speak English. You will never forget your native language.

Keep on talking and do it a lot.
